The mission of YYH Yıldız Enerji, which began its operations in the last quarter of 2019, is to deliver electricity at favorable prices to corporate customers, especially group companies located across the country. Yıldızlar Yatırım Holding, which operates with the vision of protecting the nature and building a sustainable future across all business areas, aims for efficient use of energy resources as well as more efficient operation of the existing system through YYH Yıldız Enerji. The Energy Management Committee, consisting of Yıldız Enerji employees who are experts in their respective fields, contributes to raising awareness about most efficient ways of using energy by organizing activities focused on the concept of “Manage Your Energy”.   Yıldızlar Yatırım Holding, with a history dating to the 1890, continues to contribute to the nation’s economy as a more-than-a-century old group in Turkey. First founded in Trabzon by Hasan Yıldız, the group has created value for Turkey for five generations as a pioneer of entrepreneurship and innovation, and also become a key player in the global market with its corporate culture and manufacturing strength. As one of Turkey’s largest conglomerates, Yıldızlar Yatırım Holding operates in a number of integrated industries including forestry products, fertilizers, iron & steel, maritime transport, port operations, chemicals, energy, real estate and insurance. Yıldızlar Yatırım Holding also exports to more than 50 countries on three continents with its Yıldız Entegre brand. İGSAŞ, a group company, produces urea, ammonia and NPK at its Körfez plant in Kocaeli. Yıldız Demir Çelik, a newcomer to the Turkish industry, also creates value for the national economy through flat steel sheet production. FOCUS / (pp. 6-10) As the world evolves so does Yıldız Demir Çelik   56 The only thing that organizations, which are right in the middle of a constantly evolving world, can do to survive and move ahead to a better future is to embrace change and to adapt themselves to the conditions. This is precisely why corporate transformation projects actually offer a way for companies to survive amidst the changing dynamics of the world and move with more confidence toward a future they aim for. Yıldız Demir Çelik embraced this approach and took the first step for corporate transformation in 2019, beginning with field studies that lasted three months. Interviews and focus group studies were conducted with 60 employees and managers using various methods. Then, employees and managers responded to two surveys. Next, the current situation was assessed, the required changes were identified and a solution map was created. After presentations to the management, corporate transformation program was approved. Once the entire process was completed, a new phase came and the corporate transformation program of Yıldız Demir Çelik was launched with a presentation on September 16, 2019. The corporate transformation process at Yıldız Demir Çelik was named “Birİz Corporate Transformation Program” with the participation of several managers and employees. In the meetings held as part of the launch plan, Yıldız Demir Çelik’s vision, mission, values, strategic focus areas, strategies, actions and key performance indicators were defined. The meetings also led to an answer to the question of where the company wants to be at a decade from now, noting that Yıldız Demir Çelik is more than just a company established to produce steel and what its real reason for being is. In total, 190 people from all levels participated in all of these activities and had the opportunity to speak up and express their opinions in different workshops, exercising their right to shape their own future.
