Forbes magazine, celebrating its 100 anniversary in publishing this year, conducted
the “Greatest Living Business Minds of Turkey” survey and recognized 24 people with awards. Yıldızlar Yatırım Holding Board Member Hakkı Yıldız was among the recipients of the “Greatest Living Business Minds of Turkey” awards. Hakkı Yıldız was quoted in the Greatest Living Business Minds dossier of Forbes: “My father Fehmi Yıldız always told me and my brother, ‘Either do a different business or do your business differently!’ I have always valued my family’s opinions and benefited immensely from their experiences. Our faith in ourselves and each other has enabled us to both do different businesses and also make a difference with what we do. Today, like my father, I too know that trusting young people means investing in the future. The future of our companies and our country will be built on this trust. Giving the job to the right person at the right time will suffice.”

İGSAŞ R&D Center supporting agriculture
in Turkey

run for you’

ıldızlar Yatırım Holding participated in the Vodafone
40th Istanbul Marathon with its employees to support the “If it is about education, we will run for you” campaign of Darüşşafaka Society. The employees also pitched in with their donations for the students of Darüşşafaka Society through the holding’s platform “Yıldız olarak İyilik Peşinde Koş” (Run for Charity as a Yıldız Employee). Volunteers from 12 cities, all the way from Edirne to Diyarbakır in Turkey and from abroad ran the Vodafone 50th Istanbul Marathon for the benefit of Darüşşafaka. The number of volunteers running for the benefit of Darüşşafaka Society, the first non-governmental organization of Turkey in the field of education, reached 453.
İGSAŞ ranks at 164 in the Capital 500 list of Turkey’s largest enterprises. İGSAŞ continues to support Turkish agriculture and agricultural industry with the technologies it develops and the company, together with Yıldızlar Yatırım Holding most recently completed the installation work at the manufacturing site, which will produce potassium nitrate fertilizer for the first time in Turkey and the second nitric acid plant with an investment of €35 million. As part of the investment, the IGSAŞ R&D Center was also launched. The Center’s mission is to conduct R&D studies with Turkish engineering to improve efficiency and more competitive production in the existing manufacturing sites for better quality products. A team of nearly 20 people, including chemical engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical-electronics engineers, chemists and technicians is stationed at the center. The team at the R&D Center is currently working on various programs and projects on topics such as chemistry,
energy, mechanics, controls, and commercial product manufacturing. IGSAŞ R&D Center works in cooperation
with Roketsan and also benefits from project writing consultancy from Kütahya Dumlupınar University. Aware of the need to protect information and data, IGSAŞ R&D Center holds ISO 27001 Information Security Certification. Quality control systems are monitored by SAP integration. IGSAŞ Kütahya Plant Manager Osman Tulgar explains importance of the R&D Center investment; “With forward looking investments like the IGSAŞ R&D Center, we aim to increase our contribution to Turkish economy.”
